Hey y'all! I finally figured out how to post on here!! :) Well, my name is Kelly Beaty. I am from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, but I live in College Station as I attend Texas A&M University:) I am majoring in elementary education with an emphasis in math right now, but I'm thinking about changing that to special education. I am in love with college and have experienced a deeper intimacy with the Lord than ever before! I am involved with some awesome ministries including Freshman Leaders in Christ, Souls for the Savior, and Pioneers (which is a children's ministry). Oh and I forgot, I am 19:)
Some randoms about me:
- I am obsessed with children! There is almost nothing more that I enjoy than playing and loving on kids!
- I say y'all a lot, but am by no means country.
- Worship through music is my favorite thing to do, although I am pretty musically challenged.
- I make a lot of strange faces.
- I love smiling and laughing.
- There are 3 things I will never turn down, worship, playing any type of game, and dancing.
- I am awful at dancing, but I always find myself dancing.
- I am not a morning person in any way ( you guys might need to help me in that!)
- I think dreads are the coolest thing and am thinking about going for it this summer (I mean we are going to be in Africa, why not!)
- I am a picky eater.
- I am not ever afraid to get dirty.
- I love encouraging people!
- I am awful at grammar and writing, so these blogs might be a little rough from time to time.
- I love love love to craft.
- I adore traveling and have been traveling since I was an infant, partly due to my father being a retired pilot.
- I get really excited about a lot of things!
I have only been on local mission trips throughout Texas and New Mexico. I have been overseas many times, but I am so excited to be there solely for the purpose of proclaiming the news of the gospel! Regarding this trip, I feel so blessed that the Lord gave me this opportunity to serve Him. I am not really scared (at least yet) for anything of the trip, but just hope that I am able to boldly and fearlessly proclaim the gospel through every opportunity.ย I was told by a friend recently that I am not ready to serve a people group until I have been absolutely broken for them. I am not 100% there yet, but am continuing to pray for a heart that totally breaks for the lost Swazi people.
I am praying for each one of you and I can not wait until I meet y'all. It is going to be incredible spreading the name of Jesus beside y'all! Love you!
